India set to extend lockdown beyond April 14 as COVID-19 cases surpass 5,000

India's three-week lockdown is set to end on April 14, but some states are concerned about the continuing rise in COVID-19 infections. Financial hub Mumbai has said it will extend the lockdown. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has held a video conference to discuss the situation. India reported 773 new infections, pushing its total past 5,000. The death toll stands at 149.
