No Payment during Lockdown for Domestic Help: 'If we demand payment, they might fire us.'

The government has asked all workers to be paid by their employers. But is that the reality on the ground? 


Majority of those who work as domestic help say no. For those who have their salary deducted even for a day off, a full month's pay without a single day's work is unimaginable. When asked if they insisted for pay when told no, they say, "What's the use? Then they'll fire us in this environment and then where will we go?"
