In US news and current events today, police chased and later arrested Jennifer Gayman was stopped by police on early Nov 19, 2018 after she was using her mobility scooter without a helmet. Now she’s filing a civil rights suit for $500k. She was coming home from a night with friends when police gave her citations for using her scooter in a crosswalk and not wearing a helmet. When Gayman asked police why she was stopped, bodycam footage shows them looking up the appropriate laws online.
