Stimulus policy is 'legacy of socialism introduced to Liberals by Turnbull'

Stimulus policy is 'legacy of socialism introduced to Liberals by Turnbull' Former Speaker of the house Bronwyn Bishop says Australia needn't worry too much about the next four weeks because "we have to worry about the Communist Party of China and our relationship with it".

"We are still selling our country to China," Ms Bishop said.

Speaking on the prime minister's plan to underwrite Australia's economic recovery, Ms Bishop said "free enterprise is the way to go".

"All this has got to stop because it really is the legacy of the socialism introduced to the party by (former prime minister) Malcolm Turnbull," Ms Bishop said of the excessive spending to combat coronavirus and the Chinese control of Australian companies.

Ms Bishop told Sky News host Paul Murray "pro-growth strategies" are needed but this means "we have to root out, root and branch that old socialist virus that was introduced by the former prime minister".
