Alabama-based Michael Foster is a 40-year-old employee of Wayne Farms, a poultry processor owned by one of America’s largest private companies, the historic grain trader formerly known as Continental Grain which is now called ContiGroup. Foster says he comes to the plant every day and encounters workers who are scared: many are working elbow-to-elbow on lines where anxiety increases with every passing sneeze and cough.
