Cabinet meets to consider return of sport

Cabinet meets to consider return of sport The national cabinet could give the green light for community and elite sport to return, with guidelines being considered to make it safer.

The Prime Minister and Premiers will receive advice on the best way to restart the NRL and AFL competitions.

Both codes are expecting a clearer time-frame to be announced after the meeting.

Community sport could return in stages beginning from June - with guidelines preventing congregating and limited use of change rooms.

Further restrictions relief will be discussed in the next fortnight as part of a National Cabinet review due to be completed by May 14th.

Mass gatherings at sporting stadiums or religious services are not expected to be permitted in the foreseeable future.
