HOW TO Disable The 'Off-Facebook Activity' Setting That Tracks Your Every Move Facebook recently updated it's privacy policy and settings.

The new Off-Facebook Activity setting is set to "on" by default. This setting allows Facebook to log and track all your activity across other apps, websites, brick-and-mortar stores, restaurants and other "real-life" places. Facebook also knows when your doorbell rings through the Ring app and other smart home activity.

They do this to target you with ads and ultimately profit off of your day-to-day activity.
