B.S. Biology Major in Medical Biology as Means to Lessen Professional Migration

B.S. Biology Major in Medical Biology as Means to Lessen Professional Migration By definition, MIGRATION is the movement of a person from one place to another, either temporarily or permanently. In the Philippines, somehow, Filipinos have created a culture of emigration that has made moving abroad so common that it became acceptable and desirable. Today, more than 10 million Filipinos are working and living abroad. Although in recent years we have marked economic improvements, these are not enough to diminish the outflow of Filipinos, especially the medical practitioners; and this resulted to BRAIN DRAIN. Since the early seventies, the Philippines has been experiencing brain drain phenomenon due the migration of highly skilled physicians, nurses, sea farers, and others from the country.

Hearing that Filipinos are “literally all over the world” is something that makes us proud. But, I guess, we should stop this now. Here’s why.
