Founder of Steered Straight, Inc., a non-profit organization formed in 2000, has presented to over 5 million youth and young adults throughout the nation on the extreme dangers of drugs, gang-involvement, bullying and criminal activity while stressing the importance of making sound, rational decisions to avoid severe and life-lasting consequences. Michael also conducts Professional Development Workshops to educate teachers, administrators and professional staff on the behaviors, identification, laws, and consequences surrounding the issues at hand.
To reach parents, Community Education sessions are presented to address particular issues embedded in the social conditions of today’s youth. All sessions explain the etiology, prevalence and potential consequences, as well as prevention and intervention methods.
