How to incorporate sign language into your early childhood classroom routine with story time

How to incorporate sign language into your early childhood classroom routine with story time In this video I will show you one method of using sign language in your early childhood classroom or childcare facility. You probably already know the value of using sign language with toddlers and preschool aged children. There are dozens of ways to incorporate this multi sensory tool into your curriculum. Using sign language during circle time or story time keeps children engaged and focused. It's a great tool for fidgeters. Remember, its not about perfect signing (as you can see by my efforts to keep signs in the camera frame). In the early childhood environment, we use sign language as a multisensory TOOL.

Sign Language is especially valuable for students with speech delays, autism, and other learning disabilities.

Eric Carle's Brown Bear works well for this activity, but if you would prefer to read the book used in this video, it can be found here: Who Lives in the Sea? Ocean Animals of Hawaii
