Garrett Bradley, the director behind "Time," details what she learned about the U.S. prison system and how it infects all aspects of family life. She also opens up about her choice to use over 100 hours of archival footage from her subject, Fox Rich's family.
“In many cases (family archives are) the only representation of ourselves as we see ourselves,” she said in her interview with Variety's Doc Dreams presented by National Geographic. “The message in that really is that if you do not control your own narrative and create proof of your own existence, someone else is going to do that for you.”
